What is Urban Nights?
Urban Nights is a free event that showcases downtown’s dining, nightlife, art, music, retail, urban living options and more twice a year – once in the spring and once in the fall. The event has been described as a huge, all-inclusive street party and open house for downtown, with something for everyone to enjoy.
Businesses and restaurants offer special discounts, artists and galleries open their doors to the public, musicians and entertainers of all kinds perform throughout the center city, and several of downtown’s urban living options are open for tours. More than 100 creative places and spaces are part of the event, including locations throughout downtown, the Oregon Arts District and the Wright-Dunbar Business Village. One of the many great events taking place at Urban Nights is Dayton Out Loud.
Dayton Out Loud is a vocal variety show at Garden Station the evening of Sept. 14 (during Urban Nights) with diverse acts including a cappella, spoken word/poetry, comedy, etc. We believe that Dayton has many voices and talents that can be harnessed to do good in the city.
Therefore, proceeds from the event will directly support City Beets, a Five Rivers MetroParks gardening and leadership program for Miami Valley youths ages 12 to 17. This entrepreneurial and creative program nurtures our city’s next leaders. To visit their events page on Facebook, click here.
